Companions

Kryten's companions on the Red Dwarf are the group of travellers who save him.

Dave Lister is the last human being on earth. He was released from stasis 3 million years in the future to find out that he is the sole existing person on Red Dwarf after a radiation leak has killed the rest of the crew. He's a complete slob, but he's really quite kind (and so lovable, dammit! :P) and is the one to advise Kryten to rebel against being nothing but a sanitation droid who lives only to follow orders. He's taught Kryten everything he knows about human emotion, and Kryten loves him.

Arnold J. Rimmer is a hollogram. He used to be alive, but now he's dead, and he still exists as a hologram. He was resurected as a hologram by the ship's computer, Holly, to keep Lister sane. Rimmer is anything but sane...this nasty, cowardly grump has WAY too many problems for me to even get into now (whole web pages dedicated to him aren't enough to cover all that's going on in this guy's head). But anyway, he doesn't really get along with Kryten...well, Rimmer doesn't get along with anybody. But overall, Rimmer thinks that Kryten is just an expendeble mechanoid and couldn't really care less about him, and is quick to suggest sacrificing him to save hismelf in potentially deadly situations.

The Cat is not human, but a species evolved from cats known as Felis Sapiens. The species actually evovled over the three million years Lister was in stasis from his cat, Frankenstien, who he had on board Red Dwarf. Just like any other cat, this Cat is very vain and cares only about himself. He spends hours and hours admiring himself in mirrors and usually talks about how he handsome he is. He and Kryten get along, although the Cat always calls Kryten names.

Christine Kochanski is the woman who Lister is in love with. After three million years he hasn't give up on her, and when the crew is joined by a Kochanski from a different reality, Kryten doesn't like it one bit. He's jealous of her because Lister loves her so much, and the two of them don't really get along, although they team up sometimes.

Holly is the ship's senile computer who has an IQ of 6000. Holly and Kryten get along, and I don't really know what else to say about that exactly, except Holly is really damn funny and a great character, hehe :P. Oh, and Holly was a girl for awhile, too. Look at the girl on the right...
